Welcome to Shki-Miikan (“New Road”),
a student-led initiative under Enactus uOttawa dedicated to amplifying Indigenous voices through storytelling, cultural preservation, and community connection. We work alongside Indigenous authors and community members to bring meaningful stories and teachings to life through children’s books and other creative projects. Explore our stories, meet the authors behind them, and follow our journey as we create new opportunities for Indigenous voices to be shared and celebrated.
Wandering Bear
Wandering Bear has always wondered what lies beyond the trees.
When a simple trip to collect berries leads him deep into the forest, Wandering Bear discovers more than he ever imagined. Along his journey, he encounters wolves protecting their pup, a brave bear fishing in the river, a wise beaver building for others, and many other animals who quietly share powerful lessons about life.
